License to Sin!
As taught in the present day Church
Presently their are FEW exceptions to the 'sin religion' gospel being presented to the people. As a result it is common practice for the professing Christian to assume that he can sin with impunity and be assured of heaven when he dies. This teaching has taken on various forms and doctrines, but the CORE belief remains the same and is based on the 'perseverance' of the Saints, or stated in Modern Jargon, 'Once saved, always saved, OSAS, or Eternal Security.' This Belief system is nothing more than a modified version of Calvinism and is based loosely on the five tenets of his erroneous doctrine, created in the late 1500's.
Following is a summery of this System and it's Core teachings:
.
1) God loves you and has sent His Son Jesus Christ to die in your place on the
Cross. As a result, your past, present and future sins are now forgiven in
Christ and His Righteousness (or obedience to God's Law) is thereby 'imputed' or
'accounted' to you as payment for your sins and God no longer holds you
accountable for your actions. Your 'eternal salvation' is based on a reward /
fellowship basis, never a 'reap what you sow' decree.
2) In order to obtain this salvation you have merely to 'believe' in Jesus and
put your 'trust' or 'faith' in his finished work on the Cross, and if you
'sincerely' receive Him into your heart, you will be eternally saved. This
process takes on many forms and seldom includes 'repentance' or 'godly' sorrow
for sin. Usually it involves a 'repeat' after me, prayer in response to what is
referred to as an 'altar call.' The recipient is told that feelings don't matter
during this process, only faith. Afterward much conflicting information is given
to the 'new convert' to assure them that 'salvation' has taken place and they
now have nothing to worry about in eternity.
3) Although not all preachers and teachers in the current church system embrace
Calvin's heretical views of predestination, free will and total depravity, they
are almost 100% agreed on the final tenet of 'eternal security.' Thus this fits
perfectly with the 'user friendly' sin gospel they love to preach! Which goes
something like this, 'Since no one is perfect or can they ever be and everyone
is doomed to sin everyday for the remainder of their lives in thought, word and
deed, God MUST impute the Righteousness and Obedience of His Son to their
account and 'overlook' their shortcomings because of Grace.' Therefore every
professing Christian is destine to remain in bondage to their sin, to one degree
or another (this various from preacher to preacher) being constantly overcome by
lust, anger, bitterness and rage. But accept the fact that he is forgiven in
Christ and no longer held accountable for these sins, even those committed in
willful defiance of God's law.
4) In various forms this Doctrine also teaches that the LAW has been abolished
and Obedience is not a requirement. Faith thereby 'supersedes' Works and any
effort put forth by the individual to 'remain saved' is considered 'legalism'
and labeled heresy. Holiness and heart purity are also passed over in view of
the inevitability of 'sinning everyday' in thought, word and deed and the 'fact'
that God can do nothing to remove our 'sin nature' as long as we remain in the
body. Again, this teaching can take on confusing and conflicting aspects
depending on which 'teacher' you are listening to.
5) Imputed Righteousness and Christ's substitutionary death on the Cross are the
foundation stones of this doctrine and are taught across the board by nearly
100% of all teachers and preachers. This follows the 'sin everyday' philosophy
to the letter. IF man can NEVER stop sinning, even after he is redeemed in
Christ, then God HAD to make a way for him to be acceptable in the Kingdom.
Thus, He 'imputed' the righteousness and obedience of His Son to their account
because Jesus took their place on the Cross as 'Payment' for sin. Almost without
exception, THIS is the belief structure of MOST Professing Christians today,
although it is based entirely on a flawed premise.
You will find as many variations of this teaching as you desire, in every flavor, size and shape. Some are more blatant than others, many are utterly blasphemous. Contradictive remarks are common place among those who teach this doctrine and it is very difficult, in some cases, to know which side of the fence the person is coming from because their central focus is to keep the people coming back for more. They deal in half truths, miss-stated facts and outright lies. Many times it is what they leave 'un-said' that implies the worst. When confronted they will always retreat to a favorite portion of Scripture that 'appears' to support their belief. And for the Passages that expose them as frauds, they will have some convoluted explanation why it doesn't apply to 'believers.'
The Numbing effect this has on Spiritual discernment is phenomenal to say the least. Masses of people have been bewitched by this teaching and are in a dreadful 'Sleep of death' wallowing in various forms of sin while they have their ears tickled week after week within an insulated environment called the local church. Inevitabliy this type of teaching keeps the focus on sin rather than holiness and cannot help but defend immoral behavior and argue in favor of complacency rather than commitment. The Great travesty however is that THIS is Considered a 'Christian' teaching and 'Sound' Doctrine among the vast majority of professing believers in the churches today. And it has spilled over into the non-eternal security camp with devastating effect. Thus to one degree or another, this Horrible Doctrine is taught and believed in across every denominational barrier in existence and you would be hard pressed to find ANYONE not infected by its insidious influence.
Our purpose in posting the 'exposing wolves' section of this web page is NOT
to list a comprehensive inventory of all the false teachers out there today, but
to show a Cross-Section of their outrageous teaching in hope of waking a few
seeking souls who want to know the truth. The Bible speaks of Strong Delusion on
those who receive not a love of the truth and who take pleasure in
unrighteousness, 2Thess2:10-11. IF the examples above are not EXACTLY what this
portion of Scripture is speaking of, what could it be? We have certainly reached
that place in Christian history where the 'love' of many has grown cold and
false teachers rule the day. Therefore remember that Satan has had over two
thousand years to perfect his strategy against the Truth and has learned a very
'SUBTLE' approach to steal the souls of men into perdition. Recall the Lord's
Words of Warning:
"They will Come to you in Sheep's Clothing! You
shall know them by their Fruits!" Matt7:15
