What's the Least I can do to be saved?

In Acts it is recorded that men were 'Cut' to the heart and cried out to God, "What must I do to be saved!" Saying in reality "How do I flee the coming wrath of God? To whom do I go to escape this terrible judgment and avoid paying the full price for my sin!?"

The awful reality of sin was magnified in their conscience mind by the Spirit of God & they turned to Christ for Mercy. (Acts2:37-38)

Only Christ Jesus could spare them from the anguish they felt in their hearts and deliver them from the power of satan to the power of God! (Acts26:18) How unlike salvation is accomplished in the modern churches.

By fleeing to Him, repenting of sin and professing His name before men, it meant instant banishment from the heathen world and total separation from it's idols, customs & indulgences. You were an outcast of society, a renegade following this unknown man named Jesus.. To identify with Him meant persecution and suffering. Members of your own family would disown you. Authorities would cast you into prison. You were despised of men, ostracized by the religious leadership and considered a heretic. You could be beaten or killed on a daily bases for merely 'professing' His Name!

Do you really think anyone would 'pretend' to be a Christian under such circumstances? It's rather doubtful. Those saved by 'believing' in Jesus KNEW they had to pay the price. Conversion had to be real. 

But today the church has done a 180 degree reversal. Now it's, "What's the least I can do to be saved?" And instead of pointing out the futility of this request the preachers have not only embraced it, but invented an entire Doctrine to give it creditability!

Now no one has to suffer, or even repent of their sins. Just confess Jesus & be saved eternally! They conduct 'alter' calls and encourage people to repeat: 'sinners prayers', which have nothing to do with genuine salvation!

Yet millions of people are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt they are safe & secure in Christ without ONE SINGLE Shred of OBEDIENT Faith to back it up! The legends of hell must be rejoicing that they have been so successful corrupting the message of Grace.

The Bible says, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God!" Acts14:23 Christ Himself said, "STRIVE to enter by the Narrow gate for many I say to you will try and not be able!" Lk13:24

In other words, MOST people will NOT make it to heaven because they won't be able to enter! Still, the Churches proclaim: "Kick back & relax! Many will enter, enjoy the ride! The little sins don't matter."

Who are YOU going to believe?

Jesus said, "Whoever does not bear his cross and follow Me, cannot be My disciple. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple!" 
Lk14:27, 33

This is a far cry from what you're hearing from the church pulpits. Perhaps that's the reason the book of Acts is such a glaring contrast between Real Christianity and what's being called Christianity today.

Jesus set forth the Conditions of salvation in the Gospels. To 'Believe' on Him meant 'Counting the Cost!' Self Denial, forsaking the world, losing everything for His sake. Putting your hand to the plow & not looking back. Keeping your lamps burning, being a faithful & just servant. Keeping your wedding garment unspotted by sin! And Losing your life to find it in HIM.  (These are the things He taught!"

Why then do you STILL insist that 'knowing' is the same as 'believing' (as defined in Acts) ?

You're only kidding yourself. You can't follow Jesus with one foot in the world and the other in His kingdom! It doesn't work like that. He said, "No one can serve two masters!" You are either a Serving Him or serving yourself! There's no middle ground.

You can't be a Christian and continue to live in sin.

The message of Grace is Deliverance from the corrupting influence of sin. You are 'set free' from sin to become a slave of God! Rom6:22  The reason Christ died & rose again was NOT to accommodate you in your sins. That's a corrupted message of Grace! His mission was to "Crucify the flesh with it's passions & desires, that the body of sin might be done away with, so we will no longer be slaves to sin!" Rom6:6-7 (that's the Gospel!)

When we Receive HIM by Obedient faith, working by love, He redeems us from the Power of sin! So we are crucified with Him in death and Raised with Him into NEWNESS of life! Rom6:4-8

The Exceeding Great & Precious Promises of God! (1Pet1:22) Are given specifically to save us from the corruption that is in the world through lust! The heart that 'believes' on Christ is Purified from lust & sin. 2Pet1:4 Set free from the bondage of sin! Rom6:7

Anything short of this miraculous redemption & transformation, is NOT salvation! That's why MOST professing Christians are still in bondage to lust. All they want to know is "What's the LEAST I can do to be saved & stay that way?"

Salvation to them is an acknowledgment of Christ, a few crocodile tears, 'Repeat these words!' And bingo! You're saved forever. The fact that you continue in sin is no big deal. Grace is God's way of saying: "no body's perfect', so just 'believe' and everything will be fine!'  But true salvation is nothing of the sort. That's why it: 'Turned the World up-side-down!' (Acts17:6)

And unless it's Turned your life up-side-down, you remain in darkness until now.

"For we have become partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end!" Heb3:14
