Is everyone Saved?
John3:16
Or so you would think by speaking to people these days. Nearly everyone professes to know Christ and is assured of heaven when they die. That their conduct is deplorable by Biblical standards doesn't seem to register with the preachers. In the vast majority of churches on any given Sunday the pastors maintain the delusion by preaching a Gospel that demands nothing and produces nothing.
People are not only under the impression that they can 'sin' their way into the Kingdom of God, but that God is under the obligation (because of Grace) to overlook their shortcomings, laziness & slothful behavior, and 'Accommodate' them into His Kingdom regardless what they 'believe' about Him. The standard of conversion has fallen to such a appalling level that the preachers, in order to keep the pews full and the treasury flush, will accept almost any profession of faith as genuine without questioning the sincerity of the person making it.
Today Christianity is consists of:
Do my best (of course this varies and usually includes a
little 'lust' on the side!)
Try to live a moral life (again, I'm doing the best I can, no body's perfect but
God loves me)
Attend Church give some money, donate a little time now and then & don't
miss any of the parties! If they do witness, it's the cheap, three easy
steps method. Nothing deep.
Clichés have replaced Scripture:
Everybody's favorite: "I'm not perfect, just
forgiven!" (in other words, we can't trust you, correct?)
Another oldie but goodie: "God isn't finished with me yet!" (Because
He never started!)
And the old standby: "Judge not, lest ye be judged!" (meaning I hit
the nail on the head & it hurts)
Of course these things vary somewhat between denominations. Most of the mainstream Big name denominations are as dead as doornails and could care less about raising the standards and living out Biblical Christianity. Some of the more independent ones make an attempt now and again, but fall far short of what Scripture teaches. Then you have the churches where emotional outbursts pass for 'spirituality'. But most of time, after the singing & dancing is over the people are back to their old 'carnal' ways.
Finding a church where sound 'doctrine' is stressed and the standard of holiness is upheld is nearly impossible. Even among what we call the non-denominational or truly independent churches, it's doubtful you'll find True Biblical standards at work. They all claim to be preaching the truth and most people will readily accept what they preach as truth. But on a closer examination using the Word of God as a measuring stick, you will find the same carnal behavior condoned and lack of zeal for Christ, standard operating procedure.
Basically people are permitted by the preachers to believe what they want to believe about Jesus and the Bible and seldom challenged to reform their ways or show any enthusiasm for the truth. Those who disturb the status quo are generally not welcome in the fellowship and if they persist are eventually asked to leave because they are causing 'dissension'. The comfortable nature of most churches is conducive for all types of immorality. Since people are left with the impression that worldly lust WILL NOT cut them off from God, they continue in such behavior without the least bit of trepidation.
Many professing Christians openly admit they are in adulterous relationships, or seeking a divorce from their spouse for no other reason than 'incompatibility'. Others will tell you that they 'lust' daily for their neighbors wife & possessions, while pursuing worldly gain and the temporal things of life. Couples proudly proclaim they are living together with children from different marriages. Teenagers of 'Christian' parents profess to know God while they covet rock music, sex, drugs and alcohol. In the midst of all this the church leadership wonders WHY the Gospel isn't working, so they introduce more social functions, young programs and picnics.
Those who attend church for any length of time and have 'accepted' Jesus as their 'personal' Savior, are under the false impression that they can SIN their way into the Kingdom. Although the 'style' of preaching may vary from church to church, the under laying theme remains the same. Salvation is a free gift & easily attained, you are 'saved' by grace through faith, not of works. Your sins, past, present and future are forgiven at the Cross and you are FREE forever more from the law of 'sin & death. AND NOTHING you do afterward matters. Grace guarantees your entrance into the Kingdom because NOTHING can separate you from God and no one can snatch you out of His hand.
Sound familiar? It's the 'Gospel' being preached worldwide with FEW exceptions and it has produced one of the most Apostate generations in the history of Christianity!
What is the Gospel? Is it to merely 'Believe' on the Lord Jesus Christ & be Saved? Certainly the Bible seems to indicate such a notion, in several places: John3:16, Rom10:9-10,13, Eph2:8-9 But it also says NARROW is Gate & DIFFICULT is the Way that leads to life & FEW there be that find it! Matt7:13-14
How you reconcile these truths is the KEY to Biblical Christianity.
The modern church doesn't even try. They merely preach one side of the equation, 'believe' and accept any meager profession of faith as genuine conversion. The things that Jesus said about 'Taking up the Cross, denying self and losing your life', are for another time and don't apply under our 'dispensation', or they are optional under grace.
However the Apostles had a DIFFERENT understanding. They had
sit under the teaching of Christ for three years, watched Him perform miracles,
cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead. They witnesses Him die on the
cross and then Rise in Power! What did 'believing' on Jesus mean to them? Acts14:22
"We must through many tribulations enter the Kingdom
of God!" they told the new converts at Anitoch.
How is that a 'different' gospel than Jesus preached in Matt7:13-14 ? Jesus also said numerous times throughout His ministry you must 'CONTINUE' to follow Him to inherit eternal life. John8:31, Luke8:21 AND you MUST Keep His Commandants as well. Jh5:10-16
The Apostles repeated this exhortation throughout the new testament: Rom2:7,
Col1:22-23, Heb3:14, 1John5:13 Obedience was
NEVER an 'optional' feature of the message as it has become today.
Believing & Doing are inseparable in scripture, as to Follow is to
Obey.
WHY then are the vast majority of professing Christians under the impression that a 'one time' act of faith is ALL that is required to enter the Kingdom of God? Even the passage quoted above out of Acts14:22 says, "...Exhorting them to CONTINUE in the faith, and saying, we must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God!"
The modern Gospel is leaving out PART of the message. Yes, we are to 'believe' on Christ for salvation, but at the same time we are exhorted to 'Continue, strive, Obey and endure to the end. Luke13:24, Matt10:22 That's the Gospel!
If a person can indeed be saved eternally by simply 'believing' (and doing nothing to prove it) then the Apostles were surly deceived because they kept telling the converts to 'Continue steadfast in the faith and NOT be moved from away from the hope of the gospel! Col1:23 In fact 24 passages contain Words like: 'Steadfast', Holdfast, Keep Self Pure, Keep your conscience clear, Rid yourself of lust, Keep your lamps burning and Add to your Faith.'
Why would they use this type of language if a single moment of faith was enough to save your soul? Because simply, the difference between a 'single' moment of faith and an 'abiding' life of faithful obedience, is heaven and hell!
CLEARLY the Apostles understood the message of Jesus, that the Way into the Kingdom was indeed Narrow, hindered by many difficulties and only a FEW would make the 'extra effort' required to enter? Because this is surly what they preached, taught and lived out in their daily lives. And it is clearly evident in the writing they left behind, that the 'WORKS' of Faith, are NOT the 'works' of the law.
They defined the Grace of God by the dynamic power it contains to give you Victory over sin! Titus2:11-15, Heb13:20-21, 1Pet1:22, James2:14-16
"Since you have Purified your soul in OBEYING the truth through the Spirit!" Peter said
"Now the PURPOSE of the commandant is LOVE from a PURE heart, a good conscience and Sincere faith!" Paul said, 1Tim1:5
"So God who knows the heart gave them the Holy Spirit as he did us and made no distinction, PURIFYING their hearts by faith!" Acts15:9
"And the GRACE of God has appeared unto all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age." Titus2:11
THESE are the WORKS of Faith, through Grace. The Dynamic Power of God to Cleanse you from the corrupting influence of sin! The NORMAL Christian life is VICTORY over sin, according to scripture. NOT continual carnality, lust & worldliness. (such will ruin your soul)
Be CERTAIN you understand that God is NOT
Mocked. Whatever a man sows
that shall he also reap. Gal6:6-10 The
Righteous Decrees of God are STILL in effect. Ezk18:23-32
It doesn't matter what your preacher tells you, or what you read in some
theology book by the latest big time author. If you 'Continue' to live in sin,
you will NOT inherit the Kingdom. STOP trying to find excuses for your sin and
lay hold of God's Truth. The Bible says,
"If you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you
put to death the deeds of the body you will live!" Rom8:13
You've heard that NOTHING can separate you form the love of God, Rom8:38-39, a million times over, and NO ONE can snatch you out of His hand, John10:27 BUT do you understand that each of these precious promises is contingent on your 'Willingness' to 'Continue' in the Faith? Otherwise how would God be fair in saying,
"When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, shall he live? ALL the righteousness he has done shall NOT be remembered, because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, he shall die." Ezk18:24
"But if a wicked man turns from his wickedness and does what is right, he shall live!" 18:27
SIN WILL CUT YOU OFF FROM THE PRESENCE OF GOD!
Are not these righteous decrees STILL in effect? Your preachers, to a man, will agree if the 'wicked' man turns from his sin he shall live. WHY then does the other half the equation NOT apply about the 'Righteous' man? Is Grace some Magic formula to remove us from Judgment?
'Imputed' righteousness, your preachers will say. When you 'believe' on Christ, HIS righteousness is 'imputed' to us. God no longer sees us, in our sinful condition, but only Christ, Pure & white! Book of Romans teaches this, they claim.
But doesn't Romans also teach that 'Abraham believed God and it was accounted (imputed, same word) as righteousness' ? Rom4:3 If Abraham was indeed saved by Faith as the passage clearly states, DID NOT he understand the Prophets warnings in Ezk18 applied to him?
Remember Ezekiel also 'Warned the Righteous', Ezk3:18-21, to keep himself innocent of their blood if they turned from God. Something the Apostle Paul surly took to heart as he stated in his farewell address to the church at Ephesus, Act20:26, "I therefore testify to you you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men." he said. "For I have not shunned to declare to you the WHOLE COUNSEL of God!"
What then is the 'WHOLE COUNSEL of God?' if NOT to Warn the 'Righteous' as well as the wicked, if you 'continue' in sin you will DIE! Something your preachers are NOT doing because they DON'T believe the Word of God!
Therefore Paul in Romans is perfectly justified in Chapter 11 to tell us about the goodness and the 'severity' of God. Rom11:22 "Therefore consider the goodness and the severity of God, on those who fell, severity, but toward you, goodness, IF you CONTINUE in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be CUT OFF!"
I encourage you to read the entire chapter to settle in your own mind the validity of this passage. Although your preachers will try and explain it away with fancy sounding theology, the TRUTH remains. By the Righteous Decrees of God, every person is subject to Judgment or Mercy. The covenant is set forth, CONTINUE in the Faith, 'grafted' into the Vine (John15:1-6) produce the Fruit of Salvation and inherit eternal life. Whither on the Vine & sow to please the flesh, and you are Broken off and thrown into the fire.
'Imputed' righteousness is no more a guarantee of eternal life to you than it was to Abraham. Rather rely on the 'Purity' of heart Paul spoke of on many occasions. If you have a Clear conscience before God and man, a sincere faith in Christ that is producing the fruit of righteousness described in Eph5:9, Gal5:22-25, you all ALL the assurance the Bible can give.
Then your heart is indeed crying, 'Abba Father!' Gal4:6, reassuring you of the adoption as sons, this passage describes. Remember however you were once a 'child' of the devil, Jesus said, Matt13:38, now you are a spiritual 'child' of God (if you believe) You CHANGED spiritual fathers once, who says you can't do it again?
The Scripture says, "God is able to graft them in again!" Rom11:23 "IF they don't continue in their disobedience." As the Prodigal son returned to his Father and was 'Alive' again, Luke15:11-32 so YOU have the opportunity to seek out the mercy of God while it can be found.
However, a 'Point of no return' does exist,
the scripture warns: Heb6:1-6 & 10:26-35
Willful, deliberate sin in the face of God's precious Grace is a very serious
matter. The passage says, "If we sin willfully after we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but
a certain fearful expectation of judgment."
This same 'knowledge' of the truth is repeated in
Heb6:4,
indicating a person
who has:
"Been enlightened, Tasted the heavenly gift & become a Partaker of the
Holy Spirit."
There is ABSOLUTELY no doubt whatsoever this & Chapter 10 are taking about genuine Christians, washed in the blood, sanctified by the Spirit! In fact these passages make it so CLEAR that the 'preachers' have to say "These things are hypothetical, the real Christian cannot fall away!" In other words, they have to LIE so their theology doesn't crumble against the truth.
Heb10:28-29
Make it very clear what will
happen if you pass the point of no return:
"Anyone who rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on
the testimony of two or three witnesses. OF
HOW much WORSE punishment do you suppose will he be thought worthy who has:
Trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he
was sanctified a common thing and insulted the Spirit of GRACE!"
Do you see now why your preachers NEVER touch these passages? Or if they do, it's only to tell you how they DON'T apply by some 'theological' magic of interpretation. Can you understand how foolish this is? How venerable it makes you in your Walk with Christ? Without a FULL Knowledge of the Truth you will inevitably let down your guard and be lulled into a FALSE sense of security. You will more easily fall into temptation and 'shipwreck' your faith!
That it is a possibility is clearly stated in scripture. Again, your preachers will deny this, but read it for yourself. 1Tim1:5,18-19 Paul tells us that two men, "Alexander & Hymenaeus," FELL from a secure position in Christ and 'shipwrecked' their faith. How can you know?
Look at the passage! "Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck." 1Tim1:19
A Good Conscience is synonymous with a Pure
heart in scripture. 2Tim1:3, Acts24:16
Meaning the person possessing such, is SAVED in Christ!
Is His Grace sufficient for you? Can it KEEP you from sin, or just give you an 'excuse' for your sin? The Scriptures are Crystal Clear. Your preachers are Wrong! The genuine Christian DOES NOT walk daily in sin in shame. He has Victory over lust & worldly corruption. If he slips, it's NOT into sexual immorality, (for he knows that would CUT him off from God!) 1Cor6:9-10
You're kidding yourself if you think there is such a thing as 'Carnal' Christianity. Your preachers are lying to you using 1Cor3:3 as an excuse. Have you ever read the passage? Paul admonished them for having 'disagreements' among themselves over who was the greatest preacher, NOT for sexual immorality or lustful behavior. He clearly pointed out in 1Cor6:9-10 that the sexually immoral would not inherit the Kingdom of God. (and he NEVER suggest that the sexually immoral man in 1Cor5:5 wasn't saved to begin with!)
Paul made NO distinction between saved and unsaved 'fornicators', 'adulterers' or 'sodomites'. If a Christian commits adultery he suffers the same penalty as the non-Christian. God's decrees cannot be changed, because God CANNOT be Mocked. If the Righteous man turns, he dies, if the wicked man turns, he lives! Deny this truth at your own risk.
The problem is modern preachers have twisted this message to 'accommodate' the carnality of man and keep them comfortable. They have done an excellent job! Many churches are rolling right alone in a dream world, conducting two or more services a week, with massive social programs and community outreach, while the moral degeneration of our society reaches epic proportions. And they hardly notice!
Divorce rates are sky high. Teenage pregnancy is on the increase. Alcoholism and drug addiction is rampant. Sex, violence and lust permeate our media. The occult is having a field day among our political leaders and the fabric of our families is rotting at the core. The worst kinds of perverted behavior are considered normal and the innocent are slaughtered in the womb in the name of 'choice'!
Yet you would NEVER know any of these things are happening by attending the local church. Oblivious, they continue under their delusion, satisfied Grace is giving them an 'excuse' to keep on sinning. They are under the impression that the Gospel of Jesus is subject to every man's 'private interpretation'. That it's fine and dandy to 'Lust' in their hearts for another's man's wife or possessions. That hatred & un-forgiveness will not forfeit their salvation. That their 'worldly' behavior is just 'carnal' Christianity! That their lack of zeal for the truth will only result in the loss of 'rewards'.
WHY do they 'believe' such things? Who imparted
these foolish conclusions? NOT CHRIST! Eph4:20
"You HAVE NOT LEARNED THIS FROM CHRIST. IF indeed you you have Heard Him
and have been Taught by Him as the truth is in Jesus!"
If Grace is NOT sufficient to destroy the Lust inside your heart and give you the Power over the corrupting influence of sin, why brother? Why would the scripture say that "He redeemed us from every LAWLESS deed to PURIFY for Himself His own 'special' people zealous for good works!" Titus2:14 IF Grace is nothing but LICENSE to keep on sinning!!!
But I don't believe that way, you claim. Our
church preaches righteousness & exposes sin!
Why then do YOU ALLOW the GRACE of God to
be treated as LICENSE by tolerating OSAS?
Do you understand the awesome influence this doctrine has on the minds of the professing Christians? When you tell a person they are 'unconditional' eternally secure, no mater what they do, WHAT DO YOU THINK they will do???? Take a look inside the church and you will find the answer. Every kind of carnal behavior from adultery, to drunkenness, homosexuality, uncleanness, idolatry and even secrecy, is tolerated by the leadership! People proudly proclaim they are living in adultery, or lusting for sexual relationships and WON'T be told they are in danger of hell fire!
Paul predicted a time when people would no longer endure 'sound doctrine', 2Tim4:3, but would 'HEAP' unto themselves teachers who would TELL them what they WANT to hear! SURLY we are in THAT TIME. These 'teachers' are well paid for 'tickling' the ears of the church. They have enormous WORLD-WIDE ministries touching the lives of millions with their 'destructive heresies'. All with the appearance of godliness, but DENYING the Power to CHANGE lives! 2Tim3:5, Titus1:16
Continue in your delusion if you insist. But
know this, ONE Day you will answer to God for every idle word you spoke, for all
the time you wasted playing games at church and for all the EXCUSES you made to
Deny His Word. The Scriptures promise this very thing!
Matt12:36-37, Jude15, Eph5:15-17,
Rev20:12-13
"The solid foundation of the God stands, having THIS SEAL, The Lord knows those who are His, and LET everyone who names the name of Christ DEPART FROM INIQUITY!"
